The Challenge

Euroclad worked with MEPC to deliver roof and wall systems for phase 3, the largest on-site to date. The buildings in phase 3 needed good acoustic and thermal performances to manage the greater sound and environmental management challenges they faced. Sustainability lies at the heart of Silverstone Park. From actively minimising their own impact on the environment to helping their customers make the most sustainable choices, sustainability is always front of mind, so it was vital to ensure the buildings were as efficient as possible.

The Action

Euroclad Elite roof and wall systems are the ideal responsibly sourced solution, especially for a scheme of this size and nature.

The lightweight ‘ElitePLUS 2’ roof system was chosen in an ‘Anthracite Grey’ to cover 22,000 m² of roof space, creating a sleek, modern look in keeping with the park’s innovative ethos.

With up to a 30-year system guarantee, ElitePLUS 2 is a high-quality trapezoidal roofing system with a finished roof pitch and a Class B non-fragile, walkable liner. It offers good acoustic performance, making it ideal for industrial buildings and warehouses.

For the walls, 7,377m² of the ElitePLUS 57 wall system was used in both ‘Anthracite Grey’ and ‘Metallic Silver’ to striking effect. This horizontal, sinusoidal system is a fast, sustainable and economical cladding solution that can be guaranteed for up to 30 years.

It is also an attractive alternative to traditional industrial cladding options, giving a building a more contemporary and eye-catching appearance. This was ideal for Silverstone Park which wanted the park’s appearance to reflect its innovative and dynamic foundations in order to attract like-minded businesses.

To complement the roof and wall systems, a full package of flashings, including fabricated corners, cappings and project specific bespoke features were supplied in three key colours RAL7016/RAL9006 & RAL3020 meeting the exacting design specification. Internal liner and Galvanised flashings were also supplied along with colour matching gutters.

The systems were manufactured to meet the client's environmental requirements.

The Results

Working with installer ABS Elbrow, Euroclad’s products were delivered and installed on time and within budget. The systems delivered a high quality, modern appearance that instantly attracted tenants to the park. Main contractors, Barnwood Limited, worked closely with the client and project team to ensure the units were built to a high standard and to the client’s requirements.

The Elite roof and wall systems contributed to the ‘A’ rated Energy Performance Certification achieved on these buildings.

Client MEPC was so pleased with the products’ performances and finish that they have already specified the same Euroclad products for the next two exciting new phases of Silverstone Park.
