The Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Building, is the latest addition in the continued development of the well-established Nottingham Science Park.
Spread over 28 acres, the park aims to create an area for growing firms to expand their research and development facilities through collaboration within the vicinity.
The building will create a hub for the Science Park offering 22,782 sq ft of Grade A office over three storeys in a prominent, attractive setting.
The park already features an array of existing colourful buildings and needed to hold its own, therefore a visually impressive design was required coupled with a prominent cantilever at the entrance to the building to provide an open and welcoming space.

Eurobond Rainspan has been specified together with the visually impressive Euroclad Vieo system to create a high performing and technically advanced façade.
The Eurobond Rainspan panel provides the required technical properties including high levels of acoustic, thermal and weathertightness performance along with passive fire protection whilst also being able to support the load of the Vieo System.
The vertically installed Rainspan panel has accelerated the build programme by removing the rainscreen installation from the critical path by creating a weathertight external façade ready to receive the Vieo system whilst cleanly integrating with the window openings.
A large unsupported cantilever has been created at the front of the building. The high forces generated on the steelwork required a lightweight wall construction to close off the building, with the strength to carry the Vieo system. The design team highlighted that the spanning performance of the Eurobond panel removed enough steelwork to be lighter than an SFS option.
Eurobond Rainspan has been tested for structural and weather integrity performance to both CE Marking and CWCT standards, whilst also offering tested and assessed Reaction to Fire and Fire Resistance performance to EN13501-1 and EN13501-2 respectively.
VIEO was chosen as the façade for its simplicity and sophistication; the building features 1,800 m2 of the VIEO wall profile in Colorcoat Prisma® Anthracite by Tata Steel, vertically installed to create an outstanding symmetrical band that wraps the entire building.
With its hidden and unique fixing properties allowing for a flush installation to the Rainspan panel, the VIEO wall creates a clean and attractive finish without the need of a secondary rail system.
A striking design has been created featuring a pattern of vertical seams in combination of full height glazed elements, resulting in a distinguished contrast with the other buildings on the science park. The building completed on a tight building programme, aided by the efficiency of building materials available from single source supplier.
